  • This is my major individual design project. The work presented here make up the initial research stage which helped to fully define the problem and inform the later design stage. I selected this project due to my personal interest in environmental design and desire to tackle an important societal issue.

  • A group design and business project, with a brief to reduce energy problems in developing countries. We developed an energy storage system that provides 24h power to rural communities without the deteriorating capacity of existing batteries. I focused on the design of the reversible compressor/turbine system.

  • This task was to design a fully autonomous friction welding machine for syringe filters, made from two casings and a filter paper. The machine involved a sorting mechanism and rotary chucks to perform each stage of the process. For this project, I focused on the early design stage & concept generation. Later on, I produced the full CAD model, render and failure analyses.

  • This project goal was to design a mechatronic system to locate magnets and mark them with plastic cups within an XY gantry. The solution involved a linear scanning system with three hall effect sensors and a helical screw cup dropping mechanism. My role in this project was the design and complete construction of the mechanical system and software implementation.

  • This 1979 KZ400 had been off the road for 20 years when I bought it. The restoration included a full engine overhaul, frame modification and various other additions and alternations to the original. All work was completed without any outsourcing.
